Fame!!!! We're going to live forever!
Thank you to our brilliant Performing Arts team - Ms Jamerah, Ms Bernard, Ms Munson, Ms White supported by a flu-suffering Ms Rooke, for their outstanding commitment to ensuring performing arts is literally centre stage with our school production of Fame! The evening kicked off with the HSA supporting any thirsty patrons as the doors opened with refreshments of all kinds. As everyone knows, Ms Rooke's timings are cast in stone, so the doors opened for 5:50 for a 6pm start!
The production was re-scheduled last term due to Ms Jamerah's dance company successfully entering national finals for our dancers...and this slightly genius move to October meant we could invite and involve our current year 7 cohort. They, like all our performers, did not disappoint, picking up the songs and dances as well as providing some frankly amazing 'extra' background work throughout the production.
Fame! follows the fortunes of a talented bunch of singers, actors, dancers in the elite American Performing High School. We were treated to some very well-travelled New York accents. The students were so fantastically brave, performing to a full house and tackling issues like dyslexia, misogyny, body image and failure - accompanied by neon leg warmers and head bands!
None of our performances can be possible without the staff and students backstage, supporting with the set, lights, sound and scenery. If you were one of the 300+ audience, thank you for supporting us and your children in another brilliant production - Images below in the gallery, and available in our photo gallery
